Sounds dreamy right? To many of us, it truly does.
Then why is he shackled by his own chains which he created for himself? With a magnanimous smile plastered on his face, he is conquering it all in his life. But deep down, resides an ocean within him which is calm but deadly at the same time. Losing himself in this loop of running behind money and materialistic possessions, he has forgotten to cherish the child who lives within him. The child who still excites over the smallest of blessings. Working for money is essential but chasing it isn’t. We happen to live in a world where it is a challenge to hold onto a sense of oneself which we can forget or we can be made to forget. Don’t we often doze off in order to escape from reality for a while? When your dreams hold more reasons for you to stay alive than reality, you start dozing off more often. That is when your internal battles get intense.
Curling up your lips into a forceful smile in order to survive the day, finding solace in the darkness and feeling like an empty vessel in a bustling crowd. These lead to the paranoia that gradually starts to settle in. You can be driven to this stage for many reasons. Past trauma, circumstances, devils in disguise of humans, pressure created by many or it could just emerge from nothing. The intensity grows when you are not taken care of by yourself and you start underestimating these symptoms because others asked you not to pay heed to.
We choose to suppress ourselves because of the fear of being ridiculed. By whom?

We happen to subdue the emphasis of a medically diagnosed mental health illness known as ‘Depression’ because it takes place internally within a human body.
But unfortunately, the damage this causes is beyond imagination when measures to cure it are not taken or evaded. Healing is a gradual process. But the need to heal has to be instilled first before it gets unimaginably late.

The power of seeking help from the right individuals should never be misconstrued. Finding the people to confide in might be tedious and exhausting but the search must never end. The practice of having conversations in order to empty our system so that the heaviness we carry is eradicated is necessary. We deemphasize the significance of exchanging kind words. Words shape us, build us and destroy us. Choosing them well when exchanged must be performed always. If needed, professional help for therapy and having conversations should be encouraged instead of just taking prescribed tablets.
Healing from depression and unavoidable suffocation it causes are gradual but fulfilling. It unleashes a version of us which we aren’t acquainted with. The shades of vulnerability and innumerable breakdowns shape us into a solid personality with experiences and hopefully, new talents and hobbies as well.
The light may not be seen at the end of the tunnel right now but it is there. Holding onto hope might be consuming but the efforts will be worthwhile.

This process of cure, if dealt with patience, will grant you three emotions which will render harmony forever in your heart.
