It's Not All About IQ. Emotional Intelligence Matters Too!

Now, I know what you're thinking. Emotional Intelligence? That sounds like something out of a "Happy Days" episode. Well, the meaning of "emotional intelligence" or EQ is not known by many, but this article describes it as the ability to understand and manage one's emotions. On the other hand, our brain's ability to solve issues is governed by an important factor called the intelligence quotient or IQ, which rates our level of intellect. You might be shocked to learn that those with high EQ enjoy life more than those with high IQ.

Emotional intelligence is just as important as your raw intelligence, otherwise known as your IQ. Also, EQ is a lot more important than logical, analytical, and other skills. In our lives, many people get influenced by their relatives and friends who are more emotional. Whether they are happy or sad, we often follow that person's way of life so closely. Although everyone is equally capable of showing emotions, the emotional intelligence of some individuals is more advanced than others. On top of that, emotional intelligence is a key to communication in life, whether it's with your family, friends, or strangers.

Furthermore, it can also help you connect with people on a deeper level, even if they come from different backgrounds than you. The bottom line is that everyone has emotions, and everyone can use emotional intelligence to interact effectively and feel fulfilled. Meanwhile, a person with high EQ can make more fruitful decisions based on their feelings and can lead a more productive team. EQ helps you to have better relationships with others, understand yourself better and achieve your life goals.

Emotional intelligence is a powerful thing. It's like your body's way of communicating with you. But here's the thing: emotional intelligence isn't just about how you feel about things—it's about how you communicate with others, too. And when you're interacting with people, there are some major things to keep in mind: timing, tone, and empathy are all really important parts of emotional intelligence. In today's world, IQ matters as much as EQ does. It is harder to get good grades without having good EQ than it is to have good grades without having good EQ. IQ and EQ are not mutually exclusive! They go hand in hand and they work together to help people reach their full potential.

People with low EQ, on the other hand, are typically too self-absorbed and closed off to understand or value ideas. They struggle to express themselves. Low EQ frequently causes misunderstandings. Moreover, those who lack emotional intelligence struggle to regulate their negative emotions, which leads to behavioral problems including tantrums and hasty split-second responses.

In conclusion, the significance of EQ can not be overlooked. It's one major thing that makes an impact and changes the overall thought process of a person (you could also call it "taking responsibility" for our actions/words).In brief, if IQ is about how brilliant a person is, then EQ is about how sensitive, aware, and conscious one is. Here I intend to provide a balanced view of emotional intelligence, or EQ in the context of what matters in our lives. It will not be an overnight wonder or quick-fix solution, but the fundamentals I aim to share are both simple and practical.
