Yes, it was a wrap up for the biggest show on earth FIFA WORLD CUP Qatar 2022. With great emotions, joy, success and agony it was a 5 star show for us all. Our bare-eyes witnessed the unexpected and the our heartbeats lost tracks through out the 64 matches. Each of the matches were greater than the other and each carried our expectation level to cloud 9.

 

Let us take a look back at what were the most unexpected scenarios from Qatar 2022 :


DRINK IT IN CASABLANCA :

From this date if someone would state that an African country would dominate the rest of the world in football, no one would believe that and would make fun out of it. But, the Moroccans did it out of thin air. The MOROCCAN MAYHEM eliminated half of the teams of the world cup and went on to become the first African-nation to play in a world cup semi-final. Eventually being defeated by the former world champions France, they were shown the exit. Although their run didn’t reach the final but they ended up winning all hearts by proving themselves.

 

JOY & AGONY :

As world cup has been a festival of joy it has also been cruel to some of the greatest players of our generation. It stretches our heart out to see our superheroes cry & lie down hopeless after the final whistle. We witnessed Cristiano, Luka Modric, Neymar and many more great talents of our times ending up in defeat and crying their way home. Helpless & Hopeless are the two words to conclude their feelings. They left in pain the streets will remember them as the greatest football players that ever step foot in the pitch.

 

SMALL WHO, BIG WHO? :

What can be a possible outcome of a small team vs big team match? Think again, because this world cup has made us think again and again before placing the big teams above. Big teams like Germany, Spain, Belgium taking exit too early and teams like Portugal, Uruguay, Brazil losing and being eliminated against unexpected opponents has put the world in shock. As it was agony for them it was joy for small teams who held their head high. Teams like Japan, Korea, Morocco had their triumph proving no team should be taken lightly.

 

A BILLION-DOLLAR FINAL :

A final that will be remembered for a hundred years, a final that was a fairy-tale and a final like final it was. After 63 matches, 18th of December Argentina played the final against former world champions final. With individual brilliance at it’s best both teams fought to their breaths which eventually resulted in penalties which Argentina became Champions. With blood, sweat, tears after 36 long years Argentina lifted their 3rd World Cup trophy. A magical night for all the Argentine supporters all over the world and a new dawn of celebrations in skies of  Buenos Aires bought the curtains down of FIFA WORLD CUP 2022.

 

 

THE OLD GOD & THE NEW :

Lionel Andres Messi, a kid from Argentina fulfilled his forever-dream at the very peak of his career. At the age of 36, Messi who was already one of the greatest footballer of all time has put down another life-long achievement in his casket. The World Cup trophy has made Messi’s legacy immortal but, infront of our eyes there was another Legend in-creation “Kylian Mbappe”. Mbappe carried the whole final match on his shoulders. Scoring a hattrick in the World Cup final and winning the prestigious Golden Boot Award. But, one has to lose in order for the other to win. Mbappe’s night might have ended up in defeat but he won hearts and proved the world that his triumph is just the beginning.

 



It was THE END to the greatest show on earth and surely it has amazed and shocked us equally. Football is an emotion and passion that unites us. In the end, it is more than just a game. It is a symbol that takes away our differences and lets us celebrate together. Friend or foe, we all enjoy the game with equal enthusiasm and fun.
